Right before school started, we took a quick day trip out to the coast. Because we could. It made me sad to get back to the grind of school, when the kids had so much fun playing and learning in the best classroom of all -- nature.
We tried to get in to Muir Woods -- but typical, we couldn't get a parking spot. So we kept driving, and found an awesome little coastal trail, the Owl Trail, that led us about 1 1/2 miles down to a nature learning center called Slide Ranch. We will have to get back there one of these days to go tide pooling.

And then we got in the car and drove another few miles up to Stinson Beach to play. Warmest day I've ever spent at Stinson. The kids had a blast!
Good bye summer vacation! It was so much fun this year. Can't wait to see what next summer will bring!
