Killing Time

With nothing else to do this afternoon, we decided to take a quick trip up into the vineyards in the Napa valley. It was a beautiful fall day, and we realized that THIS is why we live in California.

October 27 has come and gone

Our little guy is officially "overdue", as my due date has come and gone without any hint of labor. I'm trying to stay positive, and am finally getting the hang of sleeping in and taking naps. And Eddy and I have been enjoying some good home cooked dinners and quiet evenings alone. If things don't change this week, we have our sights set on attending a friend's Halloween party this weekend....and not to spoil the surprise, but our costumes will be simple and easy to put together

Nesting

As this has been about the most exciting thing to happen for me this week, I thought I'd share a before and after photo of what started as my quest to create "stroller parking" in our garage. Not only did I find a place to park the stroller, but I managed to clean up and organize a ton of other things that were in dire need of some attention. Unfortunately, my secret hope of doing some heavy lifting to help induce labor did nothing more than create a little soreness in my lower back. Why have the last 2 weeks seemed so much longer than the previous 8 months? Oh well, I guess it's time to take another walk around the neighborhood...

39 weeks and counting

Although I'm doing my best to wish this baby make his arrival any day, he seems to be very content nestled inside with no intentions of coming out any time soon. Some might say I'm the "hostess with the mostess". So we're staying busy, cleaning and organizing the house, taking lots of walks, catching a movie and dinner on the town, and enjoying sleeping through the night....as it is all about to change.

Getting the room ready...

The paint is on the walls (a shocking shade of mint green, but honestly it isn't as bad as it sounds), the crib is built, the bedding is washed in the appropriate dye and fragrance free detergent, and the curtains hand-made with love in one grueling day (thanks mom!). Now we just need our little guy to make his arrival!

Baby Shower

My mom's girlfriends threw us a wonderful baby shower in September, and it definitely made it more real that Baby Bayer is on his way!
