This guy….
...is loving school. He loves to tell me about his day, the letter of the week, who he sat next to at lunch, who he played with on the playground. He loves to do his homework (which for now consists of fun, easy stuff to do, like "Name 5 friends at school" or "Tell your family 3 classroom rules" or "Write your name 4 times in capital letters", so I'm not minding it too much either). He loves to practice writing things, like his name, sports team names, the score of whatever game Eddy is watching. It's so much fun to watch!

…is playing soccer again this fall, and it has been infinitely more successful than last go around. He has a few friends that are playing as well, which helps. We know a few other parents, which makes it way more fun for us. And K just loves to run around so she doesn't care where she is.
He also loves to hit the baseball (or a small inflatable basketball) with Daddy, and the other evening all 4 of us went across the street to play together. It was a fun family game, consisting of Daddy as pitcher, Mommy as catcher, Ry at bat, and K running around doing whatever she wanted.
We also took this guy to his first Giant's game last weekend. The final score was 17-0, Dodgers won. But he didn't care.

…is getting much more creative in his play. Not that he wasn't before, but I actually feel like some of the toys we have are actually getting some use. Yay for that.

This guy….
…still loves books. He will listen to anything that anyone will read to him. We have read the first 25 books in the Magic Treehouse Series (chapter books -- I know, when did that happen?!?), and he would read more of them daily if we had the time to read them to him. He's figuring out the letters, knows a few words and is starting to sound things out. Reading on his own isn't far off I have a feeling.
This guy…
…we love this guy.
Love this post! Miss you Ry Ry! xoxo
