Books with friends...since our first year of all having kids, my college girlfriends Megan and Lindsey and I have gotten our crew together around the holidays and given the gift of books to each other. And this year was no different. And given how busy all of our schedules are, it was so nice to have these guys all get some time together. Macy is the oldest in 2nd grade, and KK is the youngest still in preschool. And I love seeing all of them so excited about books. And giggled to myself as I heard Ryan and Macy actually discussing books together on their own, as we walked along down the street.

And for New Years Eve, we had the Penners over to help us ring in the new year at our house. Eddy made paella -- which turned out delicious! We played games. And did NOT stay up till midnight. But it was great nonetheless.
